My son and I had dinner here last Saturday night. The lamb had been recommended so I had that ans was not disappointed, broke apart with my fork and has a nice salad with it. My son had the whole fish and it was also excellent on a bed of pesto rice. They have a smallish menu but great selections sure to please anyone. Ended with a chocolate desert that was excellent. For a somewhat small city, Richmond has a nice food scene and many great choices. Try Rappahannock you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I loved our meal here. I'm not a huge oyster guy but I wished I had ordered more after trying their. You could tell they were very fresh! Really good cocktails too. Our waiter was awesome and had spot on recommendations... I really wish I could remember his name to give him the cred he deserves. We will definitely be back again.

Just visited Rappahanock last night. The decor and vibe is very cool, very true to the river theme. Our server was friendly and so was the manager. What I enjoyed most was that you can get a mystery cocktail, where you choose the liquor and the style and the bartenders craft you something unique. I love that they give the bartenders that option to show their craft and expression! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the price. This restaurant is clearly meant to be upscale and a higher price range. But $34 a plate for a ~4 ounce piece of fish is pretty outrageous even for upscale standards. Enjoyed my time though!

My son lived next door during his sophomore year at VCU. I was always intrigued by the exterior and decided to try it the day I help move him out. The interior is tastefully done, the food is excellent and most of all the staff is wonderful. I'll be back.

Highly recommend this spot if you love to eat delicious seafood. They have raw oysters, fresh catch specials, and solid non seafood entrees. The lamb was absolutely incredible, the way it’s prepared just makes it so dreamy. Wonderful service, great drinks, good for dates / casual upscale dinner. Can’t wait to go back.
